Personal Infrastructure Home Lab

Technologies:

- PROXMOX VE

- UBUNTU SERVER

- KALI LINUX

- WINDOWS 11

- VLAN

- DOCKER

- MIKROTIK

Role: Administrator, Network Engineer

Timeline: 2024 - present

Status: Active

The Challenge:

I needed a comprehensive hands-on environment to test network configurations, security Implementations, and virtualization technologies without impacting production systems. Realistic enterprise scenarios are required for skill development and proof of concept testing.

The Solution:

A multi-platform homelab, designed and deployed using enterprise-grade virtualization technologies, with isolated network segments for security testing while maintaining interconnectivity for realistic business scenarios. Monitoring and logging solutions for complete infrastructure visibility were also implemented with my Network Scanner Project.

TECHNICAL PROJECTS

INFRASTRUCTURE & SECURITY IMPLEMENTATIONS

Network Discovery & Monitoring Tool

Role: Developer, Security Analyst

Timeline: 2025 - present

Status: Active

The Challenge:

Small to medium businesses need network visibility and monitoring without enterprise-level complexity and costs. Many organizations lack dedicated cybersecurity staff to manage sophisticated monitoring tools, creating visibility gaps in their infrastructure.

The Solution:

Developing a lightweight, user-friendly network scanning and monitoring application with an intuitive single-pane-of-glass interface. Currently, the project has implemented ARP discovery capabilities with planned expansion to network discovery, vulnerability assessment, and automated security reporting.

Technologies:

- PYTHON

- REACT.JS

- SCAPY

- FLASK

- REST API

- NMAP

- UBUNTU SERVER

Enterprise Network Architecture Merger Integration

Role: Network Security Consultant

Timeline: Spring 2024

Status: Completed

The Challenge:

Design secure integration of two disparate network architectures while establishing reliable cloud connectivity to Microsoft Azure infrastructure. Maintaining security posture, ensuring cost efficiency, and minimizing operational disruption during transition were required.

The Solution:

Conducted comprehensive analysis of existing network topologies, designed unified architecture with proper security segmentation, and created detailed implementation roadmap with cost-benefit analysis and risk assessment protocols.

Technologies:

- MICROSOFT AZURE

- SECURITY GROUPS

- VPN GATEWAY

- COST ANALYSIS

Achievements:

- Comprehensive network topology diagrams illustrating the current state and the proposed target architecture

- Detailed cost analysis with ROI projections and budget recommendations for infrastructure investments

- Security Assessment and Remediation roadmap for integrated network environment

Business Simulation Network Assessment

Technologies:

- PROXMOX VE

- KALI LINUX EXTERNAL VM

- WINDOWS 10 VM

- WINDOWS XP VM

- PFSENSE FIREWALL

- KALI LINUX INTERNAL VM

- VLAN

Achievements:

- Understanding of Type 1 Hypervisor usage and advantages

- Understanding network devices and hardware within a business network and without it

- Endpoint and LAN hardening

Role: Administrator, Network Engineer

Timeline: January 2026-April 2026

Status: Completed

The Challenge:

After Building My Homelab, I needed a project to run within it to gain perspective on how misconfigurations arise and how attackers find them.

The Solution:

Utilizing my Homelab to build a small business simulation, deliberately introducing common vulnerabilities (default credentials, unnecessary services, outdated OSs), then testing for them externally with a Kali Linux machine
